The hard disk drive (HDD) or hard disk (HD) is a magnetic data carrier that stores the data on the ferromagnetic surfaces of the rotating magnetic disks. The raw data is stored via the contactless magnetization of the data layer, which is carried out by the read/write heads floating on the rotating disks. The hard disk consists of several rotatable disks (depending on the capacity) arranged one above the other, the spindle bearing, the hard disk motor, the read/write heads, the control electronics (PCB) together with ROM chips and DDR RAM chips, interface for data transmission and the protective housing.
