Causes for data loss of Quantum hard drives

Just like any other mechanical or electronic device, Quantum hard drives are not resistant against wear and tear or a multitude of other failures. For example: A headcrash (click of death), PCB errors, damages on the ferromagnetic surfaces (read errors or I/O errors), firmware errors, bearing damage and motor damage or environmental unfluences such as water- or moisture damages or heat or fire damages.

Wear and tear of hard drives (physical errors or damages on the surfaces or write/read heads)

General information aboout Quantum

The company was founded in 1980. Their ATLAS series was one of the most popular SCSI hard drive series around 1999. At that time Quantum was the second largest hard drive manufacturer in the world. In autumn 2000 the hard drive section Quantum HDD was sold to Maxtor and they were sold to Seagate Technology five years later. Today Quantum is known for solutions in deduplication, replication, encryption and saving virtualised data.

... Kommunikation und Abläufe sind gut. Preis: kann ich nichts dazu sagen, günstige Firmen konnten weniger. als Privatperson würde ich mir natürlich günstigere Preise oder Preise für Privatpersonen wünschen, (keine Ahnung, ob überhaupt möglich).
Ad "gehalten, was zugesagt": ja, Zusagen wurden gehalten, ein Mal wurde sinngemäß 99% zugesagt (von einer leeren Festplatte), dh für mich war das dann trotzdem nicht verwendbar... auch wenn nicht Attingo an der leeren Festplatte schuld war...
