Our technicians and engineers are experienced in restoring data from combined RAID systems. Regardless of the RAID-Level used - RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6 (RAID ADG), RAID 10, RAID 50 or RAID 60 – we recover data from HP ProLiant servers and HP Modular Smart arrays on a regular basis.

Attingo developed proprietary methods for simulating RAID systems via software. Our specialists are able to reconstruct RAID systems, even if fatal rebuilds with false hard drives or incorrectly ordered hard drives were started or RAID configuartions were overwritten.

HP Server failure causes

The most common failure cause with HP ProLiant servers ist the defect of several SAS/SATA hard drives or SCSI hard drives (LVD). After a cancelled rebuild the access to the RAID array is no longer possible. This happens frequently, especially with older HP ProLiant servers, where a single reading error on one of the hard drives is enough to cancel the rebuild. Another failure cause can be a defective RAID controller. Typical error message are   "RAID offline", "RAID critical", "MISSING", "FAILED" or "Logical drive(s) disabled".

During the diagnosis our engineers recovery your data within a few workdays in most cases. In urgent o time critical cases we offer our High Priority Service. With this service our specialists will work on your case around the clock, weekends and holidays. This can accelerate the process significantly.

Data rescue process

We can arrange the pick-up of your device(s) and the delivery of your recovered data. Diagnosis, analysis and the data rescue itself are solely performed in our clean room laboratories. When the data rescue is finished, you receive a file list with all the recovered data and a data rescue offer calculted dependent on the effort.

Mind the following steps with your defective HP ProLiant server:

  • Do not restart the server.  Restarting the server can trigger an automatic rebuild, which can overwrite critical data.
  • Turn off the HP server and don't apply power to it anymore.
  • Label every hard drive in the RAID system with their position (slot number).
  • Addionally mark the defective hard drive(s).
  • Provide the HP ProLiant server model (e.g. HP ProLiant BL490c G6 or HP ProLiant DL380 G7, tower or 19" rack system).
  • Provide the exact RAID controller model (e.g. Compaq Smart Array 431 or HP Smart Array E200)
  • Do not open the hard dis(s)! This can cause additional damage and may complicate the data recovery.
  • Provide the RAID level used (RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, JBOD)
  • Don't install or save anything on the system. This can overwrite critical data.
